This Iconic 1940 Ford Deluxe Swings in Rare Original Trim
In 1940, World War II loomed ever larger, and the people of the US were doing their best to stay out of the conflict. It would take the horrors of Pearl Harbor to tip the scales, but that was in the unknown future. In the meantime, music from Tommy Dorsey, Bing Crosby, and Glenn MIller, to mention just a few, kept folks swinging.
The 1940 Ford Deluxe arrived on the scene during this momentous season of world history and shouldered the burden with confidence. Looking fast even parked, the iconic curves and swells of the '40 Ford came to represent an entire era. The Ford flathead V8 enjoyed the advantages of a sidevalve engine: simple, reliable, inexpensive, compact, and good power at low speed. The engine was popular among hot rodders in the fifties, and remains famous among classic car enthusiasts even today.
Many Fords from 1937 to 1940 were turned into hot rods, chopped and dropped, fenders adjusted, suspension changed. As a result, it's unusual to find such a pristine example that hearkens so well back to the original. Original-style suspension, bias ply tires, flathead V8 crackling through the dual exhaust, three-on-the-tree, freshened- but not overhauled-interior--this car will take you all the way back to the pre-war years.
Hop in this sporty 1940 Ford Deluxe, accept some coaching on how to start it, and you're off! She goes through the gears nice and smooth. Call Art & Speed at (901) 850-0507 right now, because you never know what the future holds. Financing available.
