1967 Mercedes-Benz 600 Limousine, "The Grand Mercedes"

The Mercedes-Benz 600 was introduced in 1964 as the marque's flagship and represented the highest level of engineering, luxury, and technology available from Mercedes-Benz at the time. Produced from 1964 through 1981, just 2,677 examples were built, including 2,190 standard-wheelbase Limousines, 428 long-wheelbase Pullmans, and 59 Landaulets. The 600 was favored by heads of state, royalty, celebrities, and other prominent figures.

Only 48 examples were brought to the United States for the 1967 model year, making this SWB Limousine a particularly rare example.

Finished in Royal Blue with a Blue leather interior, this 600 features genuine burled hardwood throughout the cabin, along with very nice chrome and stainless trim. The glass and lighting are also in excellent condition.

CONDITION

This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 600 is an original, unrestored survivor. The Royal Blue finish, blue leather upholstery, wood trim, chrome, and stainless components remain in largely original condition.

The interior woodwork is particularly well preserved. The original leather is in very nice aged condition and presents with the character expected of a well-preserved example of this period. The car has not undergone a restoration.

Mechanically, the 600 is in sound driving condition, though it has not been restored or fully recommissioned. The air-ride suspension requires some attention.

An exceptionally rare example of Mercedes-Benz's most ambitious production automobile, this SWB 600 offers the opportunity to acquire an original, unrestored survivor rather than a restored example.
