As America approached the peak of the muscle car era, there were limited options for combining ground pounding high performance with luxury. Enter the 1968 Hurst Oldsmobile.

Powered by a 390 horsepower, 455 cubic inch big block V8, Oldsmobile raised the bar with the ultimate "gentleman's hot rod" - top performance in a radically new body style, with a luxurious and sophisticated interior.

Despite a corporate ban, the Hurst/Olds was the only GM intermediate to have an engine larger than 400 cubic inches at the time. Crafty engineers and advertising executives got around this rule by claiming Hurst installed the larger motor, which wasn't entirely accurate. These incredible torque monsters were installed at the factory but the cars were later delivered to Demmer Engineering, where special Hurst badging, a genuine walnut grain dash, and the very unique Dual Gate shifter were added. Only 464 sport coupes with the W-45 option were built, all automatics, and all dressed in Peruvian Silver with Black paint scheme.
